Cyprus Arbitration & Mediation Forum (CAMF)

Our law firm attended ‘The Cyprus Arbitration & Mediation Forum (CAMF)’, held on September 23, 2024, at the Cyprus Hilton, Nicosia, through our lawyer Kyriaki Dimitriou. The Forum brought together leading legal professionals, policymakers, and business representatives to discuss the evolving landscape of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). The event commenced with keynote addresses by distinguished figures, including officials from the Ministry of Justice and Public Order, the Cyprus Bar Association, and other key stakeholders. The forum’s sessions covered a broad spectrum of topics, beginning with a comprehensive overview of the international ADR experience, followed by an in-depth analysis of Cyprus’ arbitration and mediation frameworks. Throughout the day, expert panels discussed the legal benefits, reforms, and future developments within the ADR sphere, with case studies providing practical insights. The forum concluded with forward-looking discussions on ADR’s role in the future of dispute resolution, highlighting its increasing importance in both domestic and international contexts. A networking reception followed, fostering collaboration and dialogue among the attendees.

This event underscored Cyprus’ strategic position as a hub for ADR in the Eastern Mediterranean, showcasing the country’s commitment to advancing arbitration and mediation practices. The exchange of ideas between esteemed local and international experts emphasized the need for ongoing reforms and modernization to align Cyprus’ legal framework with global best practices. By facilitating this dialogue, CAMF provided valuable opportunities for participants to engage with cutting-edge developments in ADR, solidifying Cyprus’ role as a key player in the international dispute resolution arena.
